Where's Sara? - August 14, 2013

I apologize for my recent absence.  I went on vacation towards the end of July and was not able to use the internet.  And of course not long after I returned my laptop decided to malfunction and have a breakdown.  Ugh I swear technology is always breaking for me.  Anyway, I have ordered a new laptop which should be shipping any day now and in the meantime I am on my little sister's computer.  Luckily for me everyone in our family has their own computer so I am not completely cut off from all the important things in life (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc..)  I am kidding of course, but I do enjoy going online quite often.  Anyway, that is why I haven't posted anything recently, including the Naked Basics palette tutorial I have been planning on.  In addition my camera (pardon my French) is a piece of shit.  It refuses to focus on anything so taking pictures of my own eye can get really frustrating.  I am hopefully getting an iPhone within a month or two so I was planning on using that for all my pictures.  I know, I may finally be joining the rest of the world with their smart phones.  Any who... I don't have anything beauty or fashion related prepared today but I can share a few of the pictures from my family vacation!  I was lucky enough to go on a cruise out of Tampa to the Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico!  I had a ton of fun as I swam with stingrays and sea turtles and explored some ancient Mayan ruins!  Definitely one of the best trips I have been on, but then again I don't think I have ever been on a bad trip! So without further ado:

Well sorry about the absence I will post my tutorial as soon as possible! And also I start school soon so hopefully I will have time to blog still!

Urban Decay's Naked Basics Palette: A Review - July 10, 2013

Hello my fellow Fashionistas and Beauty Queens!  As you may know from a previous post of mine, I recently received the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay for my birthday.  I have always heard wonderful things about both the Original Naked Palette and the more recent Naked 2 Palette.  Of course, I wanted to know what all the fuss was about, but I had a hard time bringing myself to spend $50 on one eyeshadow palette (I know, I'm kinda cheap.)  The Naked Basics Palette was released more recently and I have heard amazing things about this product as well!  Luckily for me I was shopping at Ulta the other day, looking for my birthday gifts, when I saw this palette for $27, which I felt was more reasonable (even though my mom was paying for the presents.)  I figured that if I liked this one well enough I could potentially buy the other two Naked palettes eventually.  On the way up to the register I had about 3 people tell me how much they loved it, so I knew it was probably a safe purchase.  I have used this for a couple of weeks now, mostly for a neutral everyday look, and I have jumped on the Naked Palette train!  I love this product and it may just be my favorite makeup product I have ever owned!
This is the initial packaging, it is nice and simple and pretty small.

On the back it shows all the colors included as well as a short description of the palette.

Again...the captions fail me.  Anyway the actual palette is a bit smaller than the box, but it will defiantly be great if you plan on traveling or just want to stick it in your purse for the day.

\
As you can see, there are 6 colors: Venus, Foxy, Walk of Shame (abbreviated W.O.S), Naked 2, Faint, and Crave. (From left to right)
I swatched a few shades for you to all see.  I have Crave, Faint, and Walk of Shame.  All are extremely pigmented and easy to apply.

Overall the only thing that I would have liked to see in this palette is possibly a small brush that would be useful for on-the-go application.  Other than that I really am enjoying this product and hopefully have helped one of you make up your mind on whether or not to purchase the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay!  Thanks for reading my lovelies! :)

XOXO

P.S Stay tuned for a tutorial on this everyday eye look using the Naked Basics Palette!

My 4th of July (2 dys late..my bad) - July 6, 2013

It's only the 6th, I can still talk about the 4th of July right?  Too bad I am going to anyway!  I love the 4th of July since I love being an American and I love celebrating that with friends and family!  I normally go to the fireworks my city puts on with my family.  This year I mixed it up a bit and attempted to go to a different city's fireworks with my boyfriend as well as go on a little hike to where you can see the entire valley bellow you.  By the time we went on the hike, drove to the city, finally found a parking spot, walked forever and a half to the park, and found a decent spot, the fireworks lasted about 5 more minutes.  It was kinda sad but also pretty funny.  I still had a way fun night and it was quite an adventure.  Anyway, I made sure to show my American pride through my outfit and nail art.

For my outfit I wore a plain red tank, my new white lace shorts from Aero, My American flag scarf from some historical landmark I went to back east (I think it was Valley Forge?)  I also had on Navy Blue Keds as well as some silver star earings!  It was such a great night and I had a lot of fun!  Hope you all had a fun and safe holiday as well!

Costal Scents Palette: A Review - June 30, 2013

Last day of June!  Which means school is that much closer :/  Time to really start enjoying the summer!  Today I thought I would do a review of a product I have had for quite a few months.  Many of the popular "Beauty Gurus" on YouTube have owned this product and seem to use it fairly frequently.  Today I will review my personal experience with the Costal Scents Original 88 Palette since it seems to be a requirement of anyone who writes or does videos on makeup.
This isn't my picture

I have had a great experience with this palette since it has basically every color you could ever want or need.  I always want to buy new eye shadow but then I remember that I have so many colors that it would be pretty much ridiculous!
Also not my picture...sorry I wasn't in the mood to take my own :)

As you can see the quality is great!  The swatches show they are very pigmented and you can create infinite looks with all of the colors.  However they are all matte colors, so if you wanted something with a bit more sparkle you would probably have to purchase something else.  I highly recommend this palette for anyone who loves to play around with makeup or even a beginner so they can experiment with all sorts of looks.  The nicest thing is that the palette is very affordable.  It currently is on sale for $9.95 plus S&H.  This is an extremely good price for the quality you are getting.  Hope this was helpful, thanks for reading!

Birthday Presents - June 27, 2013

This is not a post to brag about anything, I just want to share some of the things I got in case anyone needs some birthday gift ideas or wants to know what kind of things I asked for.  I got quite a bit more than I normally do on my birthday because I am moving out soon and am going to college, so I got some things that will help me with the dorm life. :)

This was all bought at Ulta, I will probably post a review on all of it.

The iHome was from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  The glasses are from some stall in the mall called DVS, and the headphones are from Target.  Not sure on the laptop case!

All from Aerpostal, the shorts were no more than $10 each, so they are great basics to have for the summer!

K apparently the captions hate me and I can't add them....Just some body wash and lotion from VS (They were having a great sell)  And my fave candy, Skittles!

Some clothes that were on clearance from VS Pink.  One lace top an three U of U items!  Preparing me for the student section next year!
Because I obviously don't own enough U of U clothes!  That's not even including my underwear....

Well hope you enjoyed!  I had a wonderful birthday and am thankful for everyone that made it so special!  Thanks for reading!
XOXO

Birthday Nails - June 26, 2013

So....TODAY I AM 18!!!! Which means I am a legal adult so I should seriously start acting like it....hahahaha that's not going to happen!  Okay so I decided to try out a new nail design since it's my birthday and everything so I went for pink/chevron nails!  I like these a lot and will probably do them again.  I can even make a simple tutorial and how I did them.  I'll try and post my outfit later today too (but hopefully I am too busy).  :)

Hope you all have a fabulous day!
