Costal Scents Palette: A Review - June 30, 2013

Last day of June!  Which means school is that much closer :/  Time to really start enjoying the summer!  Today I thought I would do a review of a product I have had for quite a few months.  Many of the popular "Beauty Gurus" on YouTube have owned this product and seem to use it fairly frequently.  Today I will review my personal experience with the Costal Scents Original 88 Palette since it seems to be a requirement of anyone who writes or does videos on makeup.
This isn't my picture

I have had a great experience with this palette since it has basically every color you could ever want or need.  I always want to buy new eye shadow but then I remember that I have so many colors that it would be pretty much ridiculous!
Also not my picture...sorry I wasn't in the mood to take my own :)

As you can see the quality is great!  The swatches show they are very pigmented and you can create infinite looks with all of the colors.  However they are all matte colors, so if you wanted something with a bit more sparkle you would probably have to purchase something else.  I highly recommend this palette for anyone who loves to play around with makeup or even a beginner so they can experiment with all sorts of looks.  The nicest thing is that the palette is very affordable.  It currently is on sale for $9.95 plus S&H.  This is an extremely good price for the quality you are getting.  Hope this was helpful, thanks for reading!

Birthday Presents - June 27, 2013

This is not a post to brag about anything, I just want to share some of the things I got in case anyone needs some birthday gift ideas or wants to know what kind of things I asked for.  I got quite a bit more than I normally do on my birthday because I am moving out soon and am going to college, so I got some things that will help me with the dorm life. :)

This was all bought at Ulta, I will probably post a review on all of it.

The iHome was from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  The glasses are from some stall in the mall called DVS, and the headphones are from Target.  Not sure on the laptop case!

All from Aerpostal, the shorts were no more than $10 each, so they are great basics to have for the summer!

K apparently the captions hate me and I can't add them....Just some body wash and lotion from VS (They were having a great sell)  And my fave candy, Skittles!

Some clothes that were on clearance from VS Pink.  One lace top an three U of U items!  Preparing me for the student section next year!
Because I obviously don't own enough U of U clothes!  That's not even including my underwear....

Well hope you enjoyed!  I had a wonderful birthday and am thankful for everyone that made it so special!  Thanks for reading!

Birthday Nails - June 26, 2013

So....TODAY I AM 18!!!! Which means I am a legal adult so I should seriously start acting like it....hahahaha that's not going to happen!  Okay so I decided to try out a new nail design since it's my birthday and everything so I went for pink/chevron nails!  I like these a lot and will probably do them again.  I can even make a simple tutorial and how I did them.  I'll try and post my outfit later today too (but hopefully I am too busy).  :)

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Everyday Makeup - June 19, 2013

Hi everyone!  So it actually took me a few days to put this tutorial together since my camera is so awful and frustrating!  But this is a look I wear almost everyday and I think it's pretty easy and simple and it really brightens up any eye color!  I apologize for the picture quality since, like I said, my camera is seriously terrible!  Anyway let's get started!

Here is the finished look!
Here are the products I will be using.  I am not a snob about name brands so most of it is drugstore.  I bet you can find drugstore dupes of the Clinique Color's as well!
Here are the brushed I will be using; a small liner brush, a basic sponge eye shadow brush, an angled crease brush, a small fluffy dome brush, and a flat eye shadow brush (from left to right.)
Start out with a clean eye (obviously) and apply an eye shadow primer.

I know I said I am not a makeup snob but I do love urban decay's eye shadow primer which I do think is worth the money.

Taking the angled crease brush I am picking up the color 'Fawn Satin' and applying it to the crease of my eye.

Then using the sponge eye shadow brush I am taking the 'Ivory Bisque' color and applying that to my lid.

I then use a smudge of my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color 'Cottage Cheese' (which is a sparkly white color) and I spread it onto my brow bone.

Then, using my fluffy dome brush I am taking the color 'Brandied Plum' and applying it on the outer crease of my eyelid.
And I am also taking 'Ivory Bisque' and applying it to my brown bone to tone down the NYX pencil.

I like to take my white eyeliner and put it on the inner corner of my eye.  This really brightens up my eyes.
The I am just applying my eyeliner as normal, I like to wing it out a bit on the ends and I apply it to my waterline as well as my lid.

Then all you have to do is curl my lashes and apply mascara!  I like to do two coats, first with CG's clump crusher and then with Maybelline's Great Lash.

This should hopefully be the results!  Hope this helped you out!  It's pretty simple but it looks really clean and brings out any eye color! (Sorry my hair looks a little funky in this picture.)

Hot Pink Animal Print Nail Art - June 19, 2013

Sorry I haven't been posting as much!  I have like three things to post today though so hopefully that will make up for it!  First are some nails both my sister's and mine.  They are both a hot pink color from Forever 21.  It's actually a fluorescent pink which isn't really noticeable in the pictures.  We both just used Sally Hansen's nail pens to do the animal print details.

My Sisters - Zebra Print

Mine - Cheetah Print
Well I will hopefully post a few things later today, hope you enjoyed this post!

Tri Color and Nautical Nail Art - June 13, 2013

Hey guys!  So I did my nails yesterday and thought I would show you what I did.  My sister also did hers and I love them so I thought I'd post those too!

 My Nails

My Sister's
I am not sure what nail polishes my sister used.  And to be honest the one's I used were pretty awful!  I just liked the colors.  I know mine aren't perfect but I did my best!

What's in My Overnight Bag? - June 9, 2013

So I couldn't really think of anything to post today as its Sunday.  As my mother says "In our family 'Sunday's Best' means yoga pants."  And I generally don't do my makeup on Sunday since I never see anyone important enough to cake my pores with makeup for.  But tomorrow I actually have an Orientation Day up at the U and will be staying there overnight.  So what better than to show you what I put in my overnight bag?  They didn't tell me to bring anything specific so this is a general thing that could apply to any overnight trip.

So this is my bag I will be taking!  It's just like a large purse I can carry over my shoulder.  It's by Guess.  It's a bit worn since I have used it for a couple of school years.

Inside, you can see there are quite a few compartments for everything I need the bag to hold.

First thing, gotta have my cell phone (I know my phone isn't a smart phone, SO GHETTO!!!)

Then I will take my iPod touch incase I gotta get my groove on or do anything that involves the internet.

Obviously, I have pajamas, hopefully they aren't too slutty (you never know in Utah)  I also am going to bring socks which I forgot to picture.

In the little "secret compartment" That is in the middle of the bag I am putting my wallet (which is also by Guess).  I have my debit card in there in case I need to buy anything as well as my license and ID.

I like to keep any jewelry I may take off at night in a little box to keep it from getting lost.  This box is super beat up because I take it just about everywhere!  I don't think I have a traveling jewelry case so I just use this.  Hey did you guys figure out I really like Guess?!

Then I am adding my camera!  Obviously that's just the case since I am taking a picture with my camera...but I am meeting my roommate for the first time tomorrow so I am definitely going to want to take some pictures!

I'm taking my Eos lip balm and my Elf powder with me incase I need to touch anything up (since its going to be freaking 100 degrees tomorrow.)  And a hair elastic and some bobby pins since I may want to throw my hair up in a pony or messy bun at some point.

I'm going to also bring my planner in case I need to remember any important dates, as well as a pen and my little tiger notebook.  I ALWAYS have a pen in my bag and my little tiger notebook is actually where I write down inspiration I get for new dance choreographies (Hey you never know!  Inspiration can be taken from anywhere!)

I am bringing some lotion (Paris Amour), body spray (Pink Chiffon), and hand sanitizer (Calypso Berry) from Bath and Bodyworks with me.  Also gotta have deodorant because I am sure I will be sweating at the end of the day!  I use Secret Clinical Strength since unfortunately I sweat a lot.

And of course I need my toothbrush and toothpaste!  I literally can not fall asleep if I haven't brushed my teeth.

And my sunglasses and their case!  It's supposed to be indoors most of the time but I am sure I will want these babies during the campus tour!

Well that's all I could think of to bring with me!  I am hoping I have fun tomorrow and learn a bunch of useful information!  I hope this helped you too!  Wish me luck!
